Feature request #1750: Switch to nginx 0.8.x series

Description

The current release is 0.8.53.

Up until version 0.8.50 the 0.8.x series was labelled as the "development version", but with the 0.8.51 release on 27 September 2010 this became the new stable branch.

On 29 November 2010 the first release in the 0.9.x series came out, labelled as "development version".

I'm still on the old stable branch (0.7.x), so now is probably a good time to switch. It should be mostly a drop-in replacement.
