Bug #1757: Error on ESC during Command-t when no buffers

Description

I use "mvim ." a lot, which opens a folder and has NERDTree ready to go - there are no listed buffers. When I command-t and press escape, it gives me an error, "Cannot load last buffer", and 

   Error detected while processing BuffLeave Auto commands for "<buffer=5>":

If I start MacVim.app, there's no problem.

    I see this too. I also get errors when I hit Enter to select a file when there are no buffers open.
