So they say the whole SCO vs Linux thing was funded behind the scenes by Microsoft; it's not a conspiracy theory as such, as the funding trail can be traced back through publicly-available documents (just Google for "microsoft funded sco" for a sampling). Well, time for the next chapter: Novell, one of SCO's targets, has been sold and MS has gotten its grubby little hands on as-yet-unspecified "IP". Given the track record, it's hard not to suspect that this is yet another piece of a strategy to crush Linux and open source, not through good old fashioned marketplace competition and innovation of course, but by litigation and strong-arming.
